This project is for the extension and conversion of a three-storey terraced house into three high quality four bedroom apartments. In order to meet the required space standards, the height of the existing basement has been increased and a four meter rear extension has been provided over ground and lower ground floor. Light-wells have been introduced to the rear, side and front, in order to provide the basement accommodation with the required level of daylight & sunlight. Flat No.1 is developed over lower ground, ground and first floor. Flat No.2 is located over ground floor and basement, whereas Flat No.3 occupies the first and second floor of the building. The choice of providing family size units, comes in response to a specific planning policy from Newham Council, which allows for the conversion of famiily houses into flats only if 4+ bedrooms accommodations are created.
