The night of the 14th June 2017 our Architectural Assistant Marco and his girlfriend Gloria, tragically lost their lives in the Grenfell Tower fire. The loss of the fine and promising young couple, left a huge void in all our lives. With the intent of keeping their memories alive for the years and  generation to come, we proudly support both foundations in their names.

GRENFELLOVE.ORG

Grenfellove.org is a foundation chaired by Marco's parents thatl operates within the Veneto Region of Italy and will have one sole intent, to promote and encourage further Education amongst young people to become inspired from the story of Gloria and Marco.

The aim of the foundation will be to provide Scholarships in the schools and Study Institutes which were frequented by both Gloria and Marco.

The Scholarships will be granted to students on acknowledgement of merit evaluation.

These young individuals will receive the necessary grants  in order to give them the possibility of frequenting the IUAV  (Venice University of Architecture).

They will cover the fees for Degrees, Research Courses or Doctorates and Masters.

Preference will be given to the Thesis’ which highlight the field of The Territory, The Environment and Building Safety with full provision of all necessary and required Academic materials & tools for Schools or Institutions at all levels.

GLORIA E MARCO AWARD

The award, originally set up by Gloria's employer Peregrine-Bryant, is supported by all the practices that employed Gloria and Marco during their time in London, their families and friends, and by their University, the IUAV in Venice, with all of whom we are liaising closely in developing this award.

The aim is to raise a sufficient sum to fund an annual award of £7,500. For this we will need to raise in the order of £250,000.

The award would provide a IUAV graduate with financial support for travel and accommodation costs to spend a period of 3 months in the UK and would also provide:

• Work experience in both architectural and structural engineering conservation practices as well as spending time with Historic England, an internship with the National TrustThe Landmark Trust and other bodies involved in the conservation of historic buildings in the UK

• Attendance at relevant conservation courses including the RICS Conservation Course in September and the SPAB Historic Buildings Repairs Course in October

If, as we hope, we are able to raise more funding, we would either provide an additional award or, alternatively, set up a reciprocal award to help young UK conservation graduates to visit and study in Italy.
