In the stunning Italian Alps, we embarked on a project to design a private residential house that combines modern living with environmental sensitivity. Our vision sought to fuse architecture with the natural landscape, which features terraced vineyards. The main residence is built using a cross-laminated timber structure, carefully adhering to passive house standards.
Nestled in the heart of Notting Hill, this duplex unveils a modern narrative tailored for a dynamic couple stepping into the London property scene. Bathed in abundant natural light the design of this home draws inspiration from its charming surroundings.

A central spine takes centre stage, giving birth to what's aptly termed the 'utility wall.' Within this clever solution, a host of essentials find their designated spaces – a compact yet stylish powder room, a wardrobe for coats and shoes, concealed storage nooks, and a line-up of sleek kitchen appliances. This smart arrangement liberates the remaining area for seamless interaction between dining, culinary exploits, and lounging. A small but yet sophisticated terrace creates the perfect setting for savouring sunsets during the long summer days. The windows, upgraded to double glazing, provide tranquillity and ensure optimal thermal comfort.

Ascending the stairs, a deliberate partition yields two expansive double bedrooms. Nestled at the heart of this upper realm, a hub of services emerges, featuring a private en-suite haven and a shared family bathroom. Behold the continuity of a wardrobe, a quiet unbroken presence stretching from corridor to bedroom, a custodian of storage catering to practical aesthetics. This dwelling harmoniously melds Notting Hill's vivacity with architectural ingenuity, creating the perfect next for the young family.
